Creep Cluster Andromeda's Curse 2018

This is an indie perfume for licorice/fennel lovers and fennel lovers only. It comes on strong from the time that I put the sample to my skin; it's pretty accurate to the original: that gentle sort of licorice greenness mixed with a watery, aquatic base. Underneath it, there's a very pleasant vanilla that doesn't go plastic. The vanilla is not particularly foody, not particularly sharp; it's very much a supporting player here, most evident in the dry-down. The dry down is almost entirely soft vanilla.

The wormwood is also a nice supporting player here; it never quite takes the lead, but it gives this a pleasant greenness. It gives this a sort of 1920's sort of feel in a way; this feels like a sweeter take on an absinthe dessert cocktail, bright green and inviting with just a hint of the salt that might suggest something darker to the green fairy's gaze.
