Gold Crown for Jewelry-Averse Individuals
And I thought Anglia Perfumery could only do men's fragrances! Finally, a "women's fragrance" that excites me!
But if we're being precise (and can believe it), this beautiful and cool chypre scent did not originate from their own creativity. An old formula was purchased to keep it alive! As mentioned above, Crown of Gold is a composition from the defunct brand Crown Perfumery.
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the scent of the original brand to make a meaningful comparison, but the fragrance from Anglia delivers on its promises. A perfume with an English touch and classic statement.
The scent progression is stylishly classic. The opening accord is very green, but not at all soapy or lemony. Here, various aromatic herbs and, in my opinion, a hint of fresh grass speak for themselves. I can detect a little alcohol, but it doesn't bother me at all.
The transitions to the subsequent fragrance phases are very harmonious, and the green top note is gently pushed into the background by a noble and rather austere floral accord, without the top note completely disappearing. This fragrance theme is then maintained for a good three hours before the scent finds its rest in a wonderful, earthy-mossy base.
The longevity is very good; however, the sillage could have been a bit more pronounced, in my opinion. It would require another attempt in spray form to say more precisely.
I assume that Crown of Gold has remained classified as a women's fragrance for traditional reasons. In my opinion, this crown is also wearable by men, but one should appreciate this fragrance direction.
Although I am quite jewelry-averse, I have decided to acquire a gold crown.

I still have the original from Crown Perfumery, which is definitely noticeable in the sillage. Still, I'm glad that Anglia Perfumery is bringing back some of Crown's old treasures!

A trophy for King EP! So far, I only know the Velvet Rose from Anglia, but it's soooo beautiful.
