Unknown Familiar?!?
A sample of this fragrance leaves me puzzled. I've never consciously had "Animale for Men" in front of my nose. And yet, it feels very familiar to me. A fougère in a decent, lavender-spicy-coniferous manner with a mossy base, good longevity and sillage.
I keep bringing my nose to my wrist, savoring the scent, its beautiful aromas, and I have a fragment of lost memories in my mind that I just can't pinpoint. Somewhere in the back of my head, something wants to push forward, but a kind of barrier sends the budding thought back into oblivion. Forcing it forward has no use, because the more I "want," the stricter the "censorship."
Is it the juniper berries peeking around the corner that remind me of a place where a lot of juniper grows? Or is it the combination of lavender with geranium that has appeared similarly somewhere before? Or the fine leather with earthy-mossy vetiver in the base?
A puzzling fragrance that I quite like, yet it continually makes me ponder without invitation. Resistance is currently futile, as "reason is taking a break" here at the moment....
Strange, but that's how I experience it.....

Yes, that's how it can go. You have it right there, almost on the tip of your tongue, but... Unfortunately, these scents aren't really my thing. You must be right.
