I read reviews about Chloe Nomade yesterday and stumbled upon Desert Dream as a dupe. So today I went straight to Aldi Nord and bought it blind. (I have never smelled Nomade by Chloe, though.)
I tested Desert Dream all day long in winter temperatures and I'm thrilled and amazed!
At first, it smells a bit citrusy, similar to a blue Axe shower gel, which fades after 10-15 minutes. After that, it becomes dry, woody, and spicy. It slightly reminds me of the herbal aroma of Bio-Fritzkola (which contains cardamom), but completely without the sweetness of Fritzkola ;-)
It becomes very close to the skin after a short time. I find the overall longevity of about 4-5 hours great for the price.
I usually tend towards clean or floral creamy scents, and I'm quite amazed at how much I like this one.
Because I quickly get headaches from certain chypre notes or very sweet perfumes, like La vie est belle or Armani Si, unfortunately, many of the common perfumes don't work for me. That's why I'm even more excited that I could discover a new fragrance direction for myself through Desert Dream and its spiciness.
I will definitely let my husband test the scent and see how it develops on him. I find it totally unisex - although I think everyone can wear anything as long as they like it.
That's what I'm saying! Anyone can wear anything, no matter the season! There are no scents for young or old, summer or spring; what matters is how you feel and if you want to experiment! It's about the moments you want to capture and the memories you want to create.
