A Bright Little Head....

Strange designation for a flanker "Bright Sportiness." In the mid-80s (the release year is set at 1977), I first came into contact with it. Inevitably, because it was supposed to give a boost to the unsporty "Devin." Even back then, I perceived it the same way I do now with the newly acquired vintage mini bottle fragrance (in perfect shape).

A detailed list of the fragrance notes is not provided here. This doesn't really matter at its core, as it strongly clings to "Devin." In contrast to "Devin," this one holds the floral, fruity opening note longer, indeed "brighter" and less demanding and strong. However, for me then as now, it lacks a sporty character. The middle part is relatively flat, and in the dry down, it is again the unsporty "Devin";).

In conclusion:

1. The garden carnation, which triggers headaches for me, is either not included (which I can't imagine given the scent similarity) or chemically different from the today annoying garden carnation.

2. It is striking to me that many (intact) vintage fragrances have an aromatic scent development. This does not refer to the sillage, but simply that these fragrances smell "freer," are fluffy, breathe, and present themselves more openly than many current, uptight fragrances. They just smell.

Conclusion: I was pleased to have acquired this rare fragrance 1. at a good price and 2. to finally have it under my nose again. But "then as now," I couldn't find any significant reason to own it. It smells wonderful, but "Devin" is more expressive and so well done that this gentler version is not needed.
