It's About the Special
Since the original is one of my favorite fragrances, I ordered the CDNI blindly as an affordable alternative for everyday use due to the good reviews. Therefore, I will also frame this review as a comparison.
At first, I was quite enthusiastic about the CDNI; the similarity to Aventus is definitely undeniable, and at a good €200 cheaper. However, I must unfortunately say that the citrusy "toilet bowl note" mentioned here often bothers me so much that I can no longer smell the fragrance and do not want to wear it anymore. Yes, the note fades over time, but it still remains slightly present in the further development. Unfortunately, I could not perceive the pineapple listed as a fragrance note, which distinguishes Aventus, in my CDNI. The base here clearly consists of lemon for me. What I like about the CDNI is that it develops a smoky note after the opening, which is said to have existed in the earlier Aventus, but is unfortunately no longer present in the current versions.
I have found that I liked the CDNI increasingly less the more I wore it.
This unfortunately also affected my relationship with Aventus, which had always represented something special for me, leading me to the conclusion to throw the CDNI out of my collection.
Perhaps I am not doing the fragrance justice through this comparison. The price-performance ratio is of course significantly better than the original, and the longevity/sillage of my CDNI was definitely okay. There were also a few compliments for it. Once, a young gentleman who was behind me in line while shopping even ran after me to ask which perfume I was wearing when I had the CDNI on.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend the test to anyone who does not know Aventus or does not want to spend that much money on it.
To all others, who, like me, have the original in their collection and only want it as an alternative or for everyday use, I can only advise against it based on my experience and recommend keeping Aventus as something for special occasions instead.

I totally agree with you; if you know the original, the lemon really gets in the way and is quite bothersome for a while. I don’t notice the pineapple at all either.

Thank you very much for the feedback. I wasn't aware that the CDNI EDP consciously addresses the issue with the lemon. This might be worth a try for me after all. Please don't get me wrong, if there's a fragrance that comes close to Aventus and is just as wearable and beautiful for me, I’d prefer to save the money for the original. That's actually why I bought CDNI in the first place.

Armaf was aware of the issue with the lemon. That's why they released the EDP version. If anyone prefers to spend €570 (200ml) instead of €53 (200ml) for a nearly identical scent, that's up to them. It's not my money. It just seems illogical to me, just because someone can't handle a bit more lemon for a moment.

Ignore the cry babies that pee in their pampers over the "harsh lemon opening" which actually smells like a freshly sliced lemon and doesn't even last that long 😭😭
