Close but No Cigar

Club de Nuit Sillage is a dupe of the timeless classic Silver Mountain Water by Creed. However, for just a fraction of the price, Armaf only manages to replicate a fraction of the atmosphere of Creed.

In the overall concept of the fragrance, one can certainly notice clear parallels, but the differences are undeniable.

The sillage starts with a typical lemon cleaner note for the Club de Nuit line. This has nothing to do with the beautifully photorealistic lemon opening of SMW.

As it develops, it turns into a shower gel-like synthetic, with fleeting impulses of the characteristic green metallic notes of SMW.

Additionally, there is a purdige iris note, which is absolutely out of place, has nothing to do with the original, and makes the whole thing smell more like cheap laundry detergent.

The inspiration is clearly recognizable, but the execution leaves much to be desired in its synthetic and undetailed manner. Given the cheap price, this was to be expected, yet I still wonder why one would even bring a product to market that is cheap but incomplete.

I would recommend staying away from this (poorly made) theft of Creed. If one understandably does not want to pay the high price for the original, one should simply look for a more affordable niche or designer perfume.

I have a bottle from 2021 and I love this scent. My brother is an even bigger fan and got himself a backup bottle. His is from 2023 and smells completely different. That doesn’t really help you now, but if you happen to come across a 2021 bottle, you might want to give it a chance.

And what does the fragrance rating look like if you disregard the assumption (influencer) about the "dupes"?

Then it's a fragrance with a nice scent DNA, but it comes off way too synthetic for my taste.
