Bergduft N°1 - Edelweiss Art of Scent Swiss Perfumes 2008

Surprise
A silky cashmere scent that immediately reminded me almost 100% of DKNY Cashmere Mist. I really did not expect that. I was fully prepared for a transparent "whiff of the Swiss mountain world" and received a quite intense floral bouquet infused with no less dominant vanilla. In my opinion, the scent represents anything but "pure freshness." It is warm, powdery, sweet, soft, yet very lush. I can imagine it much better for a romantic evening by the fireplace, wrapped in a cozy cashmere blanket, than for a search for edelweiss flowers during a mountain hike in the fresh air.
Therefore, it receives the same score as Cashmere Mist, which I used to like very much. However, the name Cashmere Mist fits the scent perfectly. This one, on the other hand, was unfortunately very misleading for me. I really would have wished for a nature-inspired perfume with the freshness of the mountains...

Sure, nothing beats "sniffing it completely naturally" ;) But "Blue Gentian" is great! I can do without the other two ;)

Okay, thanks for the comment - I’ll think more about getting the trilogy from Switzerland... Well, whatever... I often come across gentian, alpine roses, and edelweiss on my mountain hikes anyway *lol* and I can sniff them naturally there.
