Earthy and cool, but not that rebellious
The most important note in Iris Rebelle is (surprise, surprise!) a waxy iris with an earthy, carrot-like touch. It's a well balanced scent: Cool and powdery without crossing the line to cold and dry. There is a soft touch of sweetness that keeps the scent approachable, so it's not as rebellious as the name says. Orange blossom adds a fresh creaminess on top of that.
When the scent has dried down a bit, an unexpected hint of a more masculine note emerges. It makes me think of an old-fashioned aftershave. No idea where this is coming from, it definitely does not smell like gaiac wood, which is the only listed note besides iris and orange blossom. The rest of the fragrance leans more feminine in my opinion, so the overall impression is unisex. To me, some unisex scents are just completely gender neutral, while others combine manly and womanly aspects, and Iris Rebelle is clearly of the latter category.
It's a nice, wearable fragrance that doesn't blow me away. For iris by Atelier Cologne, I strongly prefer the more exciting, sweeter and darker Silver Iris. People who like an earthy iris and don't want the typical lipstick scent might be better off with Iris Rebelle though.
