crazy little thing called love
This little gem came to me in an unexpected way. I didn't know the scent beforehand, but I really wanted to test it because I liked the bottle (it's a mini) so much. The inspiration came from Minigolf, she described it so wonderfully that I got all tingly, and now I have this lovely fragrance myself, albeit only in a small size, but better than nothing at all.
It is an unparalleled Chypre, starting off beautifully herbal-citrusy, with a hint of fruitiness mixed in, which must be the orange blossom that smells so good, I like it extraordinarily. There are flowers too, of course. What I like so much is that it completely avoids iris, which sometimes bothers me; here it’s just rose and jasmine, sparingly dosed, nothing is overwhelming.
At the same time, I smell something fine and woody, a little earthy, but not dull and heavy, rather friendly, bright, and light, rich, harmonious; I am thrilled by this aromatic-soft aura that surrounds me.
Sandalwood is so warm and cozy here, patchouli is not annoying, almost a bit sweet, but not gourmand-sweet, rather, I don’t know, noble-sweet. It has something golden about it, I can’t quite describe it, it really shines, which only a few fragrances do for me.
This fine honey sweetness at the end is even more enchanting, as it is not cloying, but woven with a friendly hint of oak moss, wonderful.
The scent is still perfectly fine (which is not always the case), considering how old it is. All the fragrance notes create a cozy feeling, and the name is truly well justified; I’m almost a little in love with this HISTOIRE d'AMOUR.
AND - it is definitely a vintage scent, simply well made, as it is still in impeccable condition. I find it a pity to only have 4 ml.

Despite the balsamic "almost sweetness," I liked it a lot too...
And then a golden vintage scent too!
I always thought of carpets when I heard Aubusson!
But scents - how lovely!
Congratulations!
