Very interesting. The strength of the animalic notes is probably due to cultural differences; clearly, people in Asia aren't as sensitive to it, or maybe it's their skin that makes animalic scents more bearable. Although I have it in the Oud version in my collection, I haven't worn it yet, but after your comments, I'm really confident that I'll like it.

With Chypre, there are no genders, because soapy-clean with a hint of something wicked always works. Noble scent!
I don't understand why so many artisan brands think that more is better when it comes to animalic notes. They should be subtle. In my opinion, you shouldn't smell like a tiger cage or peeing rock hyrax males during a meeting, a date, or on the subway. Not that this one is particularly bad, but it could have been better if the volume had been turned down a bit.
