Far Far Away
By the lake,
the day is drawing to a close,
and the colors of the sky shift in all shades of red,
as the sun slowly disappears on the horizon.
It is a warm summer evening.
Lavender grows wild at the edge of the lake.
The wind gently plays with your hair,
catching the last rays of sunshine.
Soft vanilla tones weave through the patchouli-colored splendor.
Above it all lies the reddish-golden light
of the setting sun.
Twilight....
How often have we been here at this time,
in love, like on the first day.
You had your guitar with you
and played just for me.
With your soft voice,
that caressed me, you sang my favorite songs.
And I lost myself in your eyes,
amber-colored,
like a lake of benzoin.
And I saw love in them.
And I saw your upper lip twitch...
I smiled...
you would kiss me any moment now...
In your breath, there was always a slight hint of nutmeg,
and your lips tasted of bergamot...
You only liked that one drink....
Our bed on the ground was adorned
with rose geraniums and vanilla flowers...
I have every single note in my head,
as I can smell them in the perfume.

And then there was that accident...
You wanted to ride the motorcycle to the lake,
I followed in the car...
Had to wait while turning...
Then that noise...
squealing tires...
a dull thud...
shattering glass...
and silence....
endless silence....

Today I sit here by the lake,
everything covered by a 10cm thick layer of snow.
It is winter,
but the light at the lake is the same.
My thoughts travel back
to the past,
to the play of light in your hair,
the expression in your eyes...
the love within them....
Now you are so far far away.....

It has become sad, but this fragrance is so comforting, so it fits.

Kittens with the most good-natured lavender cuddle eyes
Baldi - a super expensive Italian luxury brand, whose perfume presentations, packaging & prices easily overshadow those of similar luxury houses. The bottles are striking works of art that always catch my eye in the store. However, the prices and the feminine classification often made me turn away. But the eyes of the tiger wouldn't let me go, the ratings of all Baldi creations here on Parfumo are very impressive. Today I had the pleasure.

The eyes of the tiger - that promises fire, danger, maybe even eroticism & doesn't sound so feminine at all. And I believe it is absolutely wearable by men. But I could immediately toss the other associations in the bin. It is a lavender masterstroke - noble, luxurious, full-bodied, a whole bouquet of the finest kind, an expensive ray of sunshine for feeling good & indulging in luxury. Next to Invasion Barbare, it is probably one of the great lavender masterpieces of recent years. But the MDCI scent suits me and my character much better, and I don't even know exactly what it is about the Eyes of the Tiger. Maybe there is something too feminine included after all. Back to the enchanting scent: thick lavender, so rich & expensive, one might think it has a golden coating. Subtly, a dark, almost amber-like vanilla shimmers through, which makes the scent suitable for going out. A lavender gem clearly for the cold seasons, as it becomes quite dark-sweet towards the end. Still, a lavender for the new, festive millennium. But perhaps it appears much hotter & more versatile on women.

Bottle: almost too beautiful for a perfume?
Sillage: strong, suitable for going out... And that is unusual for my associations with lavender.
Longevity: no seconds were spared here, nowhere. 12 hours from the wrist.

Conclusion: beautiful lavender, every second is a pleasure, wearable for both men & women. But too elegant & chic for leisure, there are better alternatives for going out or I simply don't like to wear lavender. Therefore, no higher rating regions!

Italian Competition to Amouage?
If I were a painter, an Impressionist, I would depict this fragrance as a watercolor. A huge, gnarled, woody lavender bush in the morning sun. The wood is brown-gray, as if dusted with silver powder, the half-opened flowers in soft lilac still damp from the dew. Sage, coriander, and other fragrant herbs grow wild and unruly among the lavender, and the yellow-white morning sun colors the sky. Butterflies flutter at the edge of the picture towards dark violet vanilla flowers and bright pink geraniums.

Herbaceous-spicy herbal notes, fresh lavender scent, and a lot of powdery sensuality from the heliotrope, that is the secret of the Tiger Eye fragrance that fascinates me so much.

"Occhio di Tigre" by Baldi is, after I received a sample back in July, my biggest wish list candidate. However, the proud price of €330 for 100 ml makes me swallow hard every time; still, for me, it is a masterpiece that absolutely must be had. Among the complexity of the fragrance, all four previous gemstone scents play in the "Amouage league" for me and can hold their own there.
The bottle with an embedded genuine gemstone plate (not like the plastic one from Armani Privé) in the cap emphasizes the special nature. Baldi is known for inlay work with gemstones, by the way.

Longevity extends into the next day. According to another source, it is said to remind one of "Stoned." For me, it is a softer, more feminine "Hasu-no-Hana." But fragrance perceptions are indeed subjective.

Whoever this eye winks at has already lost! Soft and creamy. Warm and cozy. Heliotrope, vanilla, and a lot of... helplessness!

Necklace of soft shapes. Next to amber-brown tiger's eyes, lavender amethysts also sparkle... fragrance jewels in warm vanilla-golden settings.
