Far Far Away
At the lake,
the day is drawing to a close,
and the colors of the sky are changing in all shades of red,
as the sun slowly disappears on the horizon.
It is a balmy summer evening.
Lavender grows wild at the edge of the lake.
The wind gently plays with your hair,
catching the last rays of the sun.
Soft vanilla tones pervade the patchouli splendor.
Over all lies the red-golden light
of the setting sun.
Evening glow....
How often have we been here at this time,
in love, like on the first day.
You had your guitar with you
and played just for me.
With your soft voice,
that caressed me, you sang my favorite songs.
And I lost myself in your eyes,
amber,
like a lake of benzoin.
And I saw the love in them.
And I saw your upper lip twitching.
I smiled...
in a moment you would kiss me...
There was always a faint hint of nutmeg on your breath,
and your lips tasted of bergamot...
You liked only this one drink....
Our bed on earth was adorned
with rose geraniums and vanilla flowers...
I have every single scent note in my head,
as I can smell them in the perfume.
And then there was this accident...
You were going to the lake on your motorbike,
i was following in the car...

screeching tyres...
a dull bang...
Shattering glass...
and silence....

all covered by a 10cm layer of snow.
It is winter,
but the light at the lake is the same.
My thoughts travel back
to the past,
to the play of light in your hair,
the look in your eyes...
the love in them....
