It's not for everyone ... but soooo good!

I discovered Balmain Homme in a fragrance package sent to me by @DieKoenigin. My first impression was "nothing special." Because the scent starts quite unremarkably with a dominant bergamot.

But after a few seconds, I thought "what is THIS?". Because beneath the citrus scent, something emerged that I did not expect at all. At first, I thought it was a strong patchouli. A look at the fragrance pyramid revealed, however, that it was a blend of nutmeg and saffron, with the nutmeg clearly dominating. I find this combination with the bergamot very unusual and also a bit of an acquired taste - but good.

Unfortunately, the three notes remain so dominant that the others, including the leather, don't really come through. Only at the end does the scent become sweeter, which may be due to the tonka bean.

The longevity and sillage are good. Since I only have a sample of "Balmain Homme | Balmain," I just googled what a bottle costs. I admit, I expected a much higher price. So the price-performance ratio is also good.

All in all, the scent surprised me very positively after the rather boring citrus opening. Maybe it will end up in my collection someday.
