Wildbloom Banana Republic 2011

It was the base! It seduced me! I couldn't resist its allure! The fragrance pyramid presented me with tonka and sandalwood *swoon*, crowned the whole thing with patchouli, oud, and suede *drool* ... "Take me!" these notes called out to me, and I took them, despite the fruits and flowers in the top and heart, against my better judgment - ordered 30ml blind from GB :-D

So how does Wildbloom smell now?
The top note is initially fresh and fruity - I perceive pear and something like an exotic fruit salad, not the canned kind, but a freshly cut one. This impression is soon overshadowed by soft flowers. I can't quite say what flowers they are, but the exotic impression remains, the flowers are still delicately accompanied by the fruits, before the base gradually makes itself more noticeable. After about 1 - 1.5 hours, I think I detect a soft leather note, and something subtly woody is now present. However, I search in vain for the patchouli, as well as the musk - although it might be related to the leather note?! In any case, Wildbloom is now creamier.

The scent progression on my skin is thus fresh-fruity, fruity-floral, and finally creamy-fruity-floral with a bit of leather and wood. Longevity is okay, after about 3 hours it is very close to the skin. The sillage is also okay, not overwhelming but not just on the skin - you can perceive it without having to get too close to the wearer ;-)

Conclusion: Nice (and I mean a positive nice, not the little brother of ...), wearable, but at least for me, it doesn't spark any enthusiasm - fruity-floral is just not really my thing *shrug*
