Sea Island Cotton Bath & Body Works 2007 Eau de Toilette

I'm Not Ready for This Island
The cotton on this island smells synthetic and weak. Unfortunately. However, the ozone above this island emits a strong odor.
My heart is big and open to clean and fresh laundry scents. And a few fragrance treasures from this (I know, often frowned upon) scent direction have indeed managed to convince me. The Sea Island Cotton from Bath and Body Works, unfortunately, does not.
The opening is very artificial. I can almost recognize a similarity to the air freshener "Cotton" from Brise. Those who know it understand: that's tough stuff. Synthetic, piercing, oh dear.
Then Sea Island Cotton slowly becomes softer, and a fine cotton note comes through. It definitely smells like freshly washed laundry, but it lacks the final touch to give this scent a truly wearable perfume quality. Yes, I know, fresh laundry scents are inherently unnecessary for many and can never really be considered perfume. Discerning noses can find fine differences, though. And here it remains quite one-dimensional and not so well done. It stays somewhat artificial.
And then it becomes really artificial when this ozone note comes in. Fresh air that smells "clean" inevitably gets this synthetic note in perfumes. A bit powdery, a bit sweet, a bit clean, a bit fresh. I can hardly believe that all these scent notes from the fragrance pyramid are supposed to be in here *astonished*
To me, it all feels a bit too clean and smooth, pore-deep clean, so to speak; I miss a few livelier nuances. Additionally, Sea Island Cotton smells extremely subtle, if not weak. It would get very boring for me very quickly. After a short time, I would definitely want to spray something else over it. You couldn't call that layering, because the island cotton also disappears quickly.
Let the cotton stay on the ozone island. I'll stay here.
