Belize Tropical Cabana Bath & Body Works 2021

I have to admit: I waited to write a review about this, until securing a second/backup bottle. This has been discontinued for a while, and it's a fan-favorite - so it's harder to find for a decent price. After testing, I can see why it's so loved!

I didn't have high hopes, because I'm so picky about banana notes. Everyone raves about their favorite banana fragrances and how they supposedly smell like "banana pudding", "banana cream pie", etc. However, most of what I've tested comes across as artificial - or like banana-flavored "Runts" candy, which I personally don't enjoy.

But when I first sprayed Belize Tropical Cabana, my jaw actually dropped. This is a sweet, creamy banana that is actually realistic! It's tropical heaven.

The banana does feel a bit like a banana daiquiri (the note listed) - but the alcohol aspect is very subtle, and I have to focus to find it. The creamy banana is strongest part of this daiquiri note, and is very smooth - so any hint of rum is light/just a background player.

It also lists a "sand" note. Although this is clearly a fantasy note, BBW does an amazing job in portraying this! It's slightly salty, feels "golden", and instantly transports me to having my toes in the sand. As far as what makes up the fantasy "sand" note, my nose feels like it's a bit of coconut mixed with sandalwood - to create the "beachy"/solar/suncreen-esque effect felt here.

I don't get any pineapple, but I'm glad - as this allows the banana to truly shine. My only complaint: I wish this lasted longer, as I usually only get 2-3 hours out of this. The banana also fades to the background over time, leaving the "sand"/salty sandalwood + hint of coconut in the forefront. But considering the quality of the blend itself, I won't complain about the longevity. Belize Tropical Cabana has quickly risen to the top of my favorite summer fragrances!
