All in Velvet

Magnum Iris begins with a wonderfully refreshed iris that makes you melt away.

The iris concrete is very thick, yet very finely crafted.

Our dear Parfuma "reni379" sent me a sample of Magnum Iris, giving me the opportunity to test this fragrance, for which I would like to express my sincere thanks.

The slightly fresh-herbaceous bergamot acts in the background and is responsible for lifting the iris concrete into the air.

This constellation can be detected on my skin for about 15 minutes before the heart note takes over.

This becomes very floral and at the same time beautifully velvety.

The ylang-ylang oil gives the fragrance a deep floral quality, wonderfully supported by the sweetly pure white jasmine, which imparts very velvety attributes to the scent.

In the background, a subtle spiciness can be detected, which in this case comes from the violet.

This constellation can be sensed on my skin for 6 hours before the base asserts itself.

Very clear musk can be detected, but without coming across as soapy or anything like that; it evokes a pleasant cleanliness.

The base receives a certain sweetness thanks to blackberries and cherries, which I have never been able to detect in base notes before.

However, the sweetness is not sticky or cloying; this sweetness retains a beautiful clarity thanks to the musk.

Unfortunately, I could not detect the Haitian vetiver, but I can very well imagine that it only acts in the background to underscore the clear sweetness.

I see Magnum Iris more suited to a woman, as the fragrance appears beautifully pleasant and feminine due to the floral notes.

Overall, the fragrance lasts 8 hours on my skin.

The sillage is not noteworthy, as it is absolutely miserable.

Unfortunately, the fragrance is purely a skin scent from the very beginning.

Addendum: Thanks to our Parfumo "ParfumAholic," I was able to test Magnum Iris once more and wear it properly, as I commented on this with a spritz on my pulse and found that the sillage is indeed at a very noticeably perceivable arm's length, and this remains so for 3 hours before it gradually diminishes until the fragrance fades away.

Thanks for this great description. I guess it's not for me after all because of the ylang-ylang and jasmine - too floral :)
