Lightly wiry, somewhat cool, peppery, with a gin-like foundation - not bad
Recently, the "Absolute" by Bentley proved to be an almost equivalent substitute for the "Gucci pour homme," which many miss dearly. The 2-year-old "Infinite Intense" presents itself as an independent design in the rather clear, slightly herbal-peppery category.
The brand is stylistically broad, and that must be acknowledged. Whether you are a frankincense freak, a gourmand lover, or - now here - an office-friendly spice, many typologies are catered to here.
The opening is somewhat uneven, almost bitter-herbaceous, reminiscent of juniper berries, but likely comes from geranium, violet leaf, and nutmeg, especially the latter.
Fortunately, about 15 minutes later, black pepper and vetiver take over, making the Bentley noticeably fresh-spicy, distinctly green, and a bit lively earthy. Somehow, a hint of gin seems to play an aromatic role, though the overall composition might just create this impression.
Comparisons are drawn to "Terre d'Hermès," which is not entirely far-fetched, but still doesn't quite hit the mark for me. The Hermès is significantly more mineral, steel-like, and also fruitier with orange/grapefruit. The Bentley is noticeably greener, softer, and less intrusive.
A very decently made fragrance, if you overlook the nutmeg-heavy first quarter-hour.
I find the scent described very accurately. However, it's several notches more subdued than I expected. After just a few minutes, I have to put my nose right on my skin to smell anything.
From my perspective, that's a very accurate description! I ordered it "blind" solely based on your rating and the ingredient list, just received it... opened it... took a test spray... and: "WOW!" This is it! Finally, a nearly perfect substitute for the "BANG" by the great M. Jacobs that I've been missing painfully for two years. Luckily, I managed to grab three 100ml bottles before it was discontinued in 2016. In my opinion, "Infinite Intense" has a similarly addictive effect on me!
Thank you for the detailed and informative description. The BII is now a "tester candidate" for me. My olfactory interests are just as diverse as my musical ones, for example. It just has to be "good," the product! In your reviews of fragrance creations, I've often found a match with my own opinions-long before I joined Parfumo-and I've been here for quite some time now.
Once again, perfectly described. Another fragrance I've discovered through you. Fresh, spicy, distinctly green, and a bit lively earthy. Not too green for me. Just right. Perfect for the office. Trophy.
