The Bentley not just for the wealthy, or is it?
So now the time has come. I am venturing into my first review. Rien ne va plus, nothing goes anymore. The dice have been cast! You all have to go through this now. Well, life does hold some difficulties and meanness. Let's see how I do.
Why this particular fragrance? To be honest, there is no special reason for it. It is neither one of my particular favorites, nor can one expect an experimental and somewhat bulky extravagant niche fragrance from Bentley's image, especially if one might already know one or two scents from Bentley, which still has not received a single review because almost no one has it.
But I don’t want to keep you in suspense any longer. I can imagine that the tension is already limitless (please imagine a laughing smiley here. Thank you).
The scent impression is essentially shaped by the notes of grapefruit and rhubarb, of course the pepper that gives the fragrance its name, underlined by a slightly fruity-spicy chili note and a hint of incense. Everything is very proper and by no means bad, and it does provide a bit of a tickle in the nose. However, I cannot detect a great fragrance development over time. The composition already seems rounded. No note really stands out strongly or presents an olfactory challenge, but the combination of the sweet-sour grapefruit and the rhubarb with the dry sharpness of the pepper is at least not entirely commonplace. The whole thing is then infused with incense and crowned with a pinch of finely ground cedar. Ready is the uncomplicated everyday fragrance, which is generally wearable year-round, perhaps with the exception of the very hot summer heat. It’s definitely doable, and every now and then I do feel like it. By the way, as always, please make sure to test it on your skin. On paper, the pepper somehow only comes into play much later, and the scent also seems much sweeter-fruity than it actually is.
So, to summarize briefly in conclusion. A good uncomplicated, harmonious scent and definitely not sweet-gourmand for me. I would say fruity-spicy with rather subtle sweetness and beautiful acidity as a counterpart. Well, that went quite well, and if you’ve made it this far, I wish you an uplifting rest of the evening. Goodbye and Goodnight.
