Sun and Larch Forest
I was most looking forward to Cembra, Latin for Swiss pine, when I ordered my samples. The ingredients promised to bring me closer to my inner scent vision of a sun-warmed larch forest in the Valais. I have often been in the olfactory enchanted forest, dreaming of capturing this revelation in a bottle.
The first spray is a wonderfully warm-fresh start, sun on the skin and fragrant pine needles, I am in the mountains and truly there! Cembra manages the miracle of being warm-woody-resinous while also fresh and very lively. It smells incredibly natural, of wood, branches, resin, and sunshine. Perhaps like a lizard, I might find a warm stone in this scent landscape where I want to lie down and breathe deeply. However, it seems that another note is trying to push through, peeking out and blinking at me, something indescribable, perhaps a hint of cinnamon? It takes away the harmlessness of the composition, making it interesting and multidimensional.
Like Splendur, this fragrance is a great choice for nature-loving people, women as well as men, which I really appreciate. I find the composition extremely successful, created in a particularly precise and unique way. This scent awakens a new passion in me, and I absolutely want to smell like this.
The fragrance becomes a bit quieter after 1.5 hours, but is still excellently perceivable. The longevity is a solid 10 hours plus, which I find quite pleasant.
With its angular shape, the bottle is simply and attractively designed. Unpretentious and down-to-earth, this impression is enhanced by the cap made of Swiss pine old wood.
