I could hardly believe it, suspecting that even after showering, a little bit of "Do Son" EdT would still linger on my wrist. So I applied Biehl "GS 03" a second time in the crook of my arm.
No, it remains just as present on the spot that definitely wasn't scented beforehand as it does on the wrist.
"GS 03" starts with a sharp citrus note, but quickly becomes lightly soapy-floral-slightly spicy even. Unfortunately, I can't ignore that "GS 03" reminds me, even on the second test, of shaving foam and the cologne scent from the hair salon back when I used to go to the barber and this smell wafted over from the men's section of the salon. Although there is also a very slightly fruity component in the floral note.
If that weren't the case, I wouldn't be able to believe at all that "GS 03" is a perfume mixed by Mr. Schön. Alongside the soapy and aldehydic nuances, I also perceive waxy and creamy sandalwood notes after a short time. Now that I read it, I also recognize the intention of pepper, combined with green vetiver.
The citrus note has indeed receded right from the start, but over time it evolves into a cologne note. However, "GS 03" does not develop into a fresh cologne; tonka and similar notes make it too creamy-resinous. I don't smell cedar at all. Likewise, I don't smell any oak moss. I don't detect anything animalistic or oppressive.
I find it difficult to really describe "GS 03," and apparently others do too, which is why there was no comment to read here. I simply can't suppress the fact that I have to admit: I smell in a softened, tamer form a mélange of those old-fashioned perfumes like Tosca, 4711, and many others that smelled similarly back then. Only the fruity osmanthus-like note lets me recognize that it is a newer perfume.
Perhaps Gesa Schön wanted to show that he can also mix quite conventional scents with a little twist of fruitiness in the style of older fragrances. I find "GS 03" wearable and nice, but insignificant and boring.
Interesting - the look to the right tells me that you're probably not the only one with the barbershop impression, because although the scent is labeled as feminine, it seems to be owned by more male users than female ones.
I'm not fully awake yet. I thought Seerose was wearing GSG9 now and imagined you in a combat suit eliminating evil. At least I've had a good laugh about myself already ;-).
I see: You're not giving up on the Biehls. Very noble of you! I'm afraid the overall yield was rather disappointing, and you probably didn't rate any higher than 7.5 - did you?
