If you want a fragrance that gives crisp, clean, and uplifting vibes, 12: Kombawa Cloudless from the French niche house of Binet-Papillon is an interesting choice. This unisex eau de parfum (more feminine for me) is all about clarity and freshness, and it calls to mind a crystal-clear bright morning devoid of clouds.
Kombawa Cloudless is a citrus and floral fragrance. The main act is the Cambodian Kombawa (which is a type of kaffir lime) that brings a sharp neither cloying nor overly sour opening that brings immediate positivity and freshness to the palate. It's beautiful and, in fact, invigorating.
Once the initial burst of Kombawa dissipates, we begin to see the appearance of some delicate water hyacinth and jasmine floral facets that take the initial sharpness down a notch adding some aqueous/airy elegance. There's a light touch of incense throughout the fragrance --- I say "light" because it seems to provide a muted touch of dignity and sophistication as part of the whole without taking any of it's brightness and positivity.
The base of Kombawa Cloudless is guaiac wood and white musk. The base is soft and comforting, the wood and musk incorporate a soft, woody, clean musky foundation for longevity while still providing a fresh and not too complicated character.
