A unique fruit freshness

Also Oud Zanzibar by Blend Oud I had sent me in a YUNIQU delivery as 8 ml filling. Unlike the other fragrance in the delivery, Nishane Hacivat, I liked this from the first smell very well.

First off, even though Blend Oud Oud Zanzibar has the word oud in its name twice, the scent has nothing to do with oud wood at all. So those who expect a fruity-oudy fragrance will be disappointed. And those who disdain it due to fear of animalic scents should not be put off by this label. Believe me, you are missing out!

Now for the actual review:

The scent starts with citrusy notes that quickly recede to make way for melon, which is prominent throughout. The fragrance is very fruity-fresh, with the floral notes give it a "carefree touch" and make it seem airy-light as well as playful. The spicy notes in the heart as well as the patchouli are not very prominent to my nose, they exclusively round out the scent and give it an exotic oriental flair. The sandalwood in the base contributes a creaminess. After about 4 hours, the scent becomes more and more dominated by the sandalwood, the lemon and bergamot are almost imperceptible. The melon also retreats very slowly, turning the scent into a creamy-fruity-sweet-floral mix. At this point, Oud Zanzibar has almost become a skinscent; I can only very faintly detect it on my skin after 7 hours, and it's starting to (sadly) wear off.

As already described above, the durability and silage is neat but not outstanding. This is in my opinion but also not bad at all, because we have to do here finally with a rather fresh fragrance. These shortcomings can be easily remedied by re-spraying or over-spraying. I can't really judge the bottle, since the fragrance is only available to me as a bottling. But the pictures and the other reviews suggest a good quality.

The fragrance I would associate with a vacation in a tropical region:
Imagine lying on the beach, looking out to sea, holding a melon cocktail. The smell of sunscreen and cream mingles with that of the flowers and grasses from the gardens of the hotel that is behind you. You are relaxed and enjoying your well-deserved vacation.

I would wear the fragrance during the day in spring and early summer. I would recommend it because of the prominent fruit and the playful character rather to younger (although it must be said that perfumos like to put themselves in the target group of fragrances they like :D). Even though the fragrance is owned by more men than women (85% to 15%; as of 01. 09. 2021), it is easily worn by both sexes.

I think the price is justified, as you get a lot for your money (It is currently available for € 115.95 at Flaconi, the list price is € 145 for 60 ml). Waits best for a sale, before you get it.
Verdict: Blend Oud Oud Zanzibar is a fruity-fresh-creamy perfume that is ideal for warm days, as they are found in spring and early summer. The durability and silage are good, the price is justified.

All parfumos and parfumistas who are into fruity fragrances, I hereby call on you to take a look at this one! Let me know what you think of him :)
