Fire Island Bond No. 9 2006

Although the scent predominantly smells floral-soapy to me, I immediately had beach associations.

I was reminded of the beach trips as a child with my grandparents. The smell of sunscreen, tanned skin, the warm sand, the sound of the waves.
But also of the somewhat old-fashioned perfume bottles of my great-aunt.
(This is probably due to the slightly piercing opening. I don’t find the scent old-fashioned in its overall composition.)

For me, the fragrance doesn’t smell modern at all, but rather like times long past, yet somehow totally familiar and beautiful.

Melancholy in a bottle.

Longevity and sillage are also really very good.
