The Best of the 80s Under One HAT...
Okay, lousy wordplay, but an accurate statement. Another powerhouse from the 80s that definitely deserves its first mention here.
The best of the 80s? That would be...?
Well, first of all, opulence. The ingredients get to show what they can do when unleashed, breaking their chains. Here, the top notes hit hard right away, but not in an intrusive or aggressive way.
Secondly, naturalness. The scent from the very well-preserved miniature that I treated myself to allows me to indulge once again and evokes sentimentality and nostalgia for the good old days of perfumery.
Thirdly, uniqueness. You can criticize the fragrances from the 70s to the 90s for many things, but not for being uniform. Each individual old-school scent immediately shows who it is and that it truly doesn't need imitation. Some ingredient particularly flatters my nose here in the top or base notes. Is it the clary sage? Or the rather rarely used fern? Perhaps just a particularly natural bergamot.
Whatever it is, an OF of this never reformulated fragrance will surely have to find a place in my collection. It is practically only available in the relevant auction houses now, with prices just below the pain threshold.
Therefore - CHAPEAU! (Oh dear - another lousy wordplay...)
