Aromatic, practical, good

The two previous Bottega Venetas always catch my eye in every store due to their classically beautiful design & are stored in my mind under "pleasant light leather scents." However, none of them has really stuck with me, or at least not without a desire to purchase. A similar fate could befall the summery Essence Aromatique, as this successful blend of Versace's L'Homme & M7 Fresh appears even more subtle & lighter than its brothers. Additionally, any leather notes have been removed.

Ess. Arom. is a dry-masculine wood-citrus scent. Not outdated, but timeless. Not a wimp, but intentionally understated & full of decency. A breath of fresh air among many olfactory sugary loud monkeys in the men's segment, I absolutely agree with my predecessors. Bergamot, light woods & a fine hint of patchouli that at least adds some depth. Ethereal, dry, & despite performance issues, quite characterful. You just have to reapply quickly & not be stingy. Here it shows once again: simple, still suits the classic man best. From spring to autumn a hit, in summer sometimes even a bullseye.

Bottle: classically masculine
Longevity: 4-5 hours scratch the average.
Sillage: pleasantly inconspicuous.

Conclusion: a very pleasant signature & office scent for warmer days, which meaningfully complements the BV PH series & represents a male exception in the designer segment. However, it simply does not stand out in the "normal world"!
