Dear Apicius, I am always fascinated by other peoples impressions of a perfume. I smile secretly to myself when people comment on a perfume when I know the exact ingredients. While I do respect how some noses confidently name ingredients, so often they are so wrong, it is after all an impression. It may be what the perfumer wanted (who knows?). First there is NO chocolate in "Assassin". There is lots of Oud and a little Hash hish, maybe the "herb" you thought of (I know this because I built it). I do not reveal too many ingredients as I want people to discover the whole fragrance. What a pity the cologne has not taken you to far away places and has left some confusion about being gourmand (an interesting note for you). That's O.K. Everyone has a different impression. I just wanted to set the record straight and not have your comments confuse anybody else. I trust all this translates well and does not cause you any offense. Cheers, Howard Jarvis, Bud Parfums.....
Thanks for your comment! I’d rather take the risk of being completely wrong than not share my thoughts on an interesting scent at all. Whether there’s chocolate in it or not - to my nose, Assassin smells like milk chocolate!
