The TGV by Burberry
The EdP would have actually pleased me, but...would have...if only Bergamot and Freesia hadn't teamed up and launched an attack on me. Would have over would have. But with the Black version, that's a thing of the past. Now, Is reigns over Is!
Is it strong? Yes...it is strong! Is it floral? Oh yes, and how floral it is. As if horsepower were rushing through the gas pedal to the engine to give it the (hoof) kick to take off, billions of micro-particles loaded with lush Jasmine burst from the bottle, barely giving you a moment to consider pressing the sprayer. Those little critters were already sniffing around my new and absolutely pristine glass bottle before I even got to the eagerly anticipated spraying. I thought to myself, this is going to be quite the ride! That would turn out to be an understatement.
So, as mentioned, the Jasmine stampede opens the scent blast and leaves me completely flattened for a few moments. But somehow wonderful, even if really intense. You get plowed into the still unscented air behind and beside you as if you had jumped onto a TGV at the front. Yes, yes...that works in the movies! In the mind's eye too. To ensure you don't fall off the speeding vehicle, it's quite difficult to hold on, but a very sugary Rose and a lot of Peach Nectar come to the rescue as glue, and the rapid ride continues. Curves? Not a chance. It goes straight ahead at top speed, and sometimes you almost feel like you're heading straight for doom. The scent is so strong at times that, despite the pace, you want to spell the word "give up." But a real perfume holds on and clings tightly to the high-tech express train. Somewhere, we finally pass through places where the speed is slightly reduced, and at all the stations, the Amber flag is waved. Luckily, this takes some of the wind out of the Jasmine's sails before I run out of breath. I am immensely relieved when we reach our destination. Slowly, the train rolls in with squeaking brake blocks and a rushing sound into the terminal covered with glass domes on steel supports and finally comes to a complete stop. The people on the platform suddenly rush to the compartments to catch their loved ones. I, meanwhile, peel myself off the glue and let myself slide down to the tracks at the front of the train. Even as I reach the wall up to the platform, the dense cloud of Patchouli from the bouquets that many gentlemen have brought to greet their ladies reaches me. Dazed from the ride and this final plea of the fragrance, I drag myself to a bench and let myself sink onto it. What a ride!
My Burberry Black is a fragrance whose concentration nearly paralyzes the senses even in small amounts, whose Jasmine has the power of a herd of Mustangs and sweeps over you as if there were no tomorrow. Luckily, this intensity is somewhat tamed by Rose and Peach, and Amber envelops softly and darkly. In the end, you also have to endure Patchouli. If you like all these notes, if you love strong and present fragrances with a statement, and if EdP and EdT were too weak for you, then you will find what you need here. Black came just at the right time for me, but I don't always feel like such a train ride.
Now and then, however, I like to hop on...this TGV by Burberry.

I just laughed tears ?. What a thrilling story. The scent is one of my favorites, and I just sprayed it on today. Now I'm looking forward to the ride on the TGV.

I really love it, and it's one of the few scents that I can smell strongly and for a long time... I need it in a spring version, I'm not a fan of Blush.

The Black... Ah, the rose was unfortunately too sweet for me, otherwise I would have jumped right on board. Nicely described. :D
