from the endless depths ...
....of my handbag, I unearthed a small black box today.
My Burberry black.
Oh Mr. Kurkdjian created the scent.
That raises high expectations.
The fragrance reaches me buttery soft and gourmand - quite untypical for a Burberry.
The fullness of the scent is also unusual - but appealing.
A single timid spray develops into a veritable cloud, where the candied rose, topped with peach nectar, dominates.
Amber serves as the "scent bed" for these two prominent ingredients, softened by patchouli.
Nevertheless, Black remains surprisingly powerful, and does not leave my side by even a millimeter.
However, I do not perceive it as black - rather velvety red, like the sweet rose petals.
Black does have a tendency towards heaviness - good thing I applied it cautiously, otherwise it could be too much of a good thing.
The longevity is enormous - respect.
A beautiful gourmand in itself - but it probably comes into its own best in winter.

I've found that most Burberrys have been too strong for me lately; let's see if that changes again...

You've described the scent very well! ;-) It starts off quite sweet, but as it develops, amber and patchouli keep it from being too sweet. I think it could be a bit more robust for my taste, then it would be perfect. ;-)

Well described! Mr. Kurkdjian has stayed true to himself again. All of his fragrances are way too sweet for me, whether from mainstream or his own label. He can't hide his signature style.
