Elixir of Happiness

For quite some time, I have ordered the Elixir from the Jasmin Noir line, and today it has finally arrived. I originally tested the EdP, but there is some note in it that I just can't quite like. I once again blame the gardenia, which I tolerate well when it takes a back seat, but in higher concentrations, it causes discomfort in my head and stomach. A closer look at the fragrance compositions of the Jasmin Noir series made the Elixir very appealing to me, as it is omitted here, and the composition of L'Essence doesn't read quite as "syrupy".
Once the decorative and elegantly designed spray nozzle finally sets aside its initial diva-like stubbornness, we can begin.
The opening is like the others in the line, featuring the typical jasmine touch. Together with bergamot and orange, it is an olfactory revelation. This trio immediately captivates my nose and senses, allowing me to breathe a dreamy sigh of relief. While the top notes in the others come through a bit fresher, here they are much sweeter, richer, and softer. I feel a slight tingling from the pepper, but it's more in the background. The almond accord is also very prominent, just like the opening trio, and it fits in absolutely harmoniously with them. Together, they form a fluffy, gourmand unit, very heavy, sophisticated, and rich. Instantly, I am reminded of the Italian restaurant in town where we often enjoyed good meals and drank a glass of Chianti. When setting down the glass, the wine didn't flow smoothly like other wines back down the rim to the bottom of the glass. Here, it "crept" back almost syrupy. Its taste was sweetly rich and very full-bodied, almost sublime. This is how I would compare L'Elixir to the EdP.
L'Elixir opens strongly, but its perfected visage only reveals itself after a while, when the initial notes have settled a bit. And it gains intensity. However, this does not overwhelm; instead, it blends into balsamic-smoky notes and musk. The dark green of the fir can still be sensed at the end. Whether one could guess it blindly without the fragrance pyramid remains open. What matters is the perfect interplay of all factors into a sensual and delicious fragrance experience that is unique.
The longevity here is above average; I can confidently say this already, as after over 5 hours, I still smell as if I just freshly sprayed it. The sillage is also enormous, and I would again say "less is more." Unfortunately, my skin absorbs L'Elixir immediately, while on fabric, it blooms and blooms, and just when you think it can't go on, another intense wave comes, as if it keeps recharging itself. With its energy and strength, I envision it as a "confident feel-good fragrance." It carries you, taking on the role of an aura. You will definitely stand out with it and must be aware of that. Its seasons will likely be autumn and winter, as the warmth it radiates will come across well on cold days. It will also surely be suitable in spring as the cool days fade. However, warm temperatures and its weight could overwhelm it.
All in all, a very feminine, elegant scent, perfect for snuggling and warming up.
Finest cashmere wardrobe to spray on ;-).

Postscript: Even after lingering on fabric at the end of the day, it is still distinctly perceptible. The next morning, however, it finally loses its breath...
