Happy Fragrance
Bal d'Afrique is an absolute happiness-inducing fragrance for me. Despite having a substantial collection, I reach for it extremely often because it lifts my spirits and gives me a sunny feeling.
Initially, I smell a floral citrus, which quickly gains a pleasant depth and softness through hints of wood and vetiver. The citrus is by no means too sharp, but is quickly caught and rounded off. Later, I perceive more flowers that really blend beautifully into the composition without being "too" floral. Overall, the composition is really well done.
The fragrance is absolutely unisex for me and suitable for any occasion. Compared to other Byredo fragrances, it lasts quite long on me and is pleasantly noticeable. I can imagine this scent on almost anyone, as it is very versatile and does not overwhelm anyone.

I actually liked it a lot for a long time and wore it almost like a summer signature. Unfortunately, I now find it a bit sharp and citrusy, which is why I let it go. It was a great love for almost 3 years.
