Drinking cognac and sucking on berry candy in a dusty old chateau
Wow! This scent is very, very weird to me.
It smells like two songs or two movies playing at the same time. One is youthful, sweet, juicy, and bright pinkish purple. The other is spirituous, antique, the warm amber color of an expensive aged liquor.
Or perhaps this fragrance has a background and a foreground. The background is dusty and evocative of a library (but only if we're talking about a private library in a big old chateau where the beautiful antique furniture of an eccentric duke is gathering dust.) It's also very alcoholic, like cognac or whiskey. The foreground is bright fruit candy, almost too sweet, and clashing so much with the background as to be dissonant.
This is actually the first Byredo fragrance I've ever smelled. Are all of them this weird?? I'm so intrigued.
