Animalique Byredo 2023

A fleecy musk, clean and plushy. A domesticated animalic, bottle-fed from birth and snug in a handknit jumper. On second thought, I wouldn’t even call it animalic in the slightest. It’s a distant, fond memory of animals. If this scent were an item, it’d be a suede and shearling jacket. Or a very expensive teddy bear. The suede is already soft, but further gentled by classic Byredo violet, cool and powdery. The whole fragrance is very Byredo. (You can take that as either a complement or warning). Longevity is well above average, though. Lasted me a whole ten-hour coach flight and had me dreaming I was cozied up in first.

Mental Snapshot: The Ikea monkey. This scent makes me feel like I’m the Ikea monkey. Cosseted, pampered, aloofly Scandinavian. Lonesome, yet stylish.
