Encounter Calvin Klein 2012 Eau de Toilette

In the absence of other alternatives, I purchased "Encounter" from the bargain bin for little money. Seen this way, it was a trade, as I had to get rid of the extremely unpleasant "Aqua Quorum" by Puig, which was personally the worst fresh scent I ever put on my skin. Sounds strange compared to the local reviews, but that's how it is. Maybe it was "off" or something...

I like "Encounter" much better, so I got lucky. The scent comes across as distinctly masculine, very spicy and slightly smoky, without falling into the "old man" category. It has a gentle touch of freshness and a very subtle sweetness, and its impression can definitely be described as oriental. Off the top of my head, it reminds me of "Strictly" by Jil Sander, which goes in a similar direction but is too heavy for me. Therefore, "Encounter," with its many nuances and balance, is the better scent for me.

In general, however, this EDT does not embody my preferred fragrance direction (which leans more towards fresh-fruity), so I gladly leave any praise to others! ;-) Nevertheless, there will be plenty of opportunities to wear it (it's only 50 ml), which I believe is possible year-round and for various occasions. Therefore: a very solid scent that doesn’t offend and doesn’t cling to current trends. A man can take it on without much risk!
