The Fragrant Bridge

At the beginning: I had never seen or smelled the fragrances from the Confidential collection by Carolina Herrera before. So I was all the happier to sniff them out at "el corte ingles" in Barcelona ;-)
In contrast to other counters like Guerlain and Chanel, I was treated and advised super kindly by the nice saleswoman here. First, I wildly sniffed through all the bottles of this line. I got stuck on "burning rose," which initially had a wonderful velvety rose-with-a-bit-of-ginger combination. Sandal Ruby smelled quite aggressively of cinnamon when sniffed on the paper strip... the saleswoman then gave me a sample of "burning rose" and this fragrance here and said I should test both in peace. Well.... five hours later, I re-entered the department store ;-)

Now to the scent:
The opening begins with a massive dose of cinnamon, which in no way reminds one of Christmas cookies or anything similar. On the contrary: The cinnamon makes you stroll through a spice bazaar in the Orient, while the heat of the desert stirs up other strong spices.
After a smooth transition, geranium and tuberose (probably also jasmine) invite you to dream of a vacation in southern France. The spices now play a complementary role, but remain more in the background.
Slowly, sandalwood and patchouli come into play, giving the entire composition depth and a certain allure! You can definitely sense the quality of these two fragrance notes; there was no stinginess here, and nothing was "watered down."

The effect of this fragrance is simply beautifully mysterious and glamorous! A fragrant bridge between the East and the West! All in all, I am really glad to have this gem in my collection! Unfortunately, the Confidential collection by Carolina Herrera is really rarely encountered, and I would absolutely advise against blind purchases of this fragrance as well!

Very well described indeed!
It’s exactly bridging the two cultures and combines the best of both worlds!
