Bouqet of crisp, fresh florals with a soapy, powdery vibe
Carat is an unexpected fragrance sample I got from a visit at Holt Renfrew where I was perusing Cartier's La Panthère fragrance line. The salesperson presented me with this one on a paper strip and I was sufficiently intrigued by it to ask for a sample.
Now that I've had time to test it on my skin in the comfort of my home, I've got to say it's still a pretty lovely fragrance. It has a very crisp and tart opening that reminded me of citruses, even though there's none in the notes. Doesn't take too long before the assortment of florals come up. I can't clearly pick them all apart, but I can say I get a crisp and fresh feeling, almost cold to the nose. There's also a deep soapy vibe with some powderiness and an undeniable green aspect. It also smells floral sweet. It's exactly like putting your face in a bouquet comprising many different flowers.
Sophisticated, classy, elegant. A very pretty floral perfume that can be worn by many, although I do picture a woman in her late twenty / beginning thirties wearing this perfume while going out on a stroll. It won't make it to a full bottle in my collection since I find it a bit too soapy and powdery for my taste, but it's nonetheless a lovely classic scent.
