The 3rd from the Chabaud Clan

Étoile de Lune, the 3rd fragrance from the Chabaud line, simmers for the 2nd test on my wrist. I had planned to comment on the first three scents I test from this series. And maybe write another comment if one of the Chabaud fragrances blows me away or if I need to wash it off, well, we will see.

Étoile de Lune, here I have read the preliminary comments, and the association of Ergoproxy with the white blouse appealed to me very much. Unfortunately, the fragrance does not quite match my preferences, but enough talk, let’s move on to the perception.

The opening is very sweet and creamy, almost buttery. I notice nothing of the sour note of bergamot in the top note; it is simply omitted. It continues floral, somewhat cloying, with jasmine spreading out, quite resolute and assertive, not letting anyone take the butter off its bread. Now I also perceive a slight citrus note; the bergamot peeks out in the background, or is it the orange blossom? This makes the fragrance a bit rounder for me, slightly dimming the sweetness. Although the scent remains finely creamy, it also has something powdery. Actually, that contradicts itself, but that’s how I perceive it.

The sillage is quite strong in the first quarter of an hour, but it calms down quickly and becomes more intimate. Étoile de Lune is an elegant floral fragrance, with longevity in the medium range. For men, it is definitely too sweet, in summer I find it too cloying, and in winter too weak. The fragrance did not bring me as much joy as Water Lily and Ergoproxy. I am increasingly realizing that it is the jasmine that does not suit me and stings in my nose. However, Étoile de Lune cannot be blamed for that, so jasmine lovers, go for the fragrance.

Under the name Étoile de Lune, I expected more magic in the scent; it’s quite heavy-handed...

It seems like there isn't a real standout among the Chabauds.

That's right, definitely not for men. ;)

If the jasmine had played that role for me, I would have never given it 80%. But I think the rose absolute is really well done.
Well, everyone smells things differently. Pokal+

I already like jasmine - so I'm curious. 3rd Chabaud trophy for you!

It seems like opinions really differ on this one. I'm curious to see how the scent will perform on my skin - time will tell, right? ;-).

I was also just tempted by the prospect of a white shirt to spray on. Wrinkle-free.

And because I found the scent so classic, I had to think of the blouse. The jasmine was well integrated with the rest, making it pleasant. :)

Hmm, this is one of those scents that goes on and off my wishlist. Right now, I'm leaning towards taking it off *g*. Even though I usually get along well with jasmine, as long as it's not *too* overpowering. Ah, I'll just leave it on for now! :-D

Once again, you speak right from my heart! The jasmine made me feel really restless; I found it very (too!) dominant!

I don't think creamy and powdery are mutually exclusive at all. Powder doesn't smell exclusively dry, and there are also creamy makeup products with a high powder content.

Creamy and at the same time powdery, I can totally relate to that; I've experienced this duality with fragrances quite often.
