The Crème de la Crème among the "Newcomers"

What can I say? Citrusy scents often have a hard time here, but this one has nonetheless received a fantastic rating with almost 700 opinions and an average score of 8.6. That is quite remarkable, and my review will not lower that score (let's just say that upfront). I can also explain why this is the case and do not wish to contradict the general consensus, even though I occasionally enjoy doing that! ;-)

Fresh scents often do not last very long and can be sharp at the outset. They quickly lose their intensity if they are not suitably supported by woody notes, which can lead to a disharmony in the scent progression between the top and base notes. Too many citrus fruits, on the other hand, can quickly remind some people of cleaning products or air fresheners, which then manifests in negative associations.

All of this can be safely forgotten with AHEB. Because here we are talking about sweetly cushioned citrus aromas and a creamy freshness with long-lasting power. That’s quite an achievement! :-) It is also reflected in the fragrance pyramid in the heart and base notes, which I find rather rare! The pepper in the top note is an exception in my nose, as it is by no means sharp but harmoniously contributes to the overall picture.

I used to wear Allure Homme Sport for a long time and still find the "Extreme" variant extremely exciting! ;-) There, freshness is underpinned with an attractive sweetness. With AHEB, however, the same perfumer has created a feel-good scent that is unmatched in its combination of freshness, longevity, creaminess, and (in the end) harmony. Because after 2-3 hours, the lemon gradually bids farewell, but never completely, while the balsamic foundation lasts a very long time. Thus, I actually find the flanker significantly better than the original. And: It is an EDP, so one can certainly expect a bit more!

I say: A great scent that will likely only not appeal to those who are completely into heavy hitters, classics, and/or Barbershop "vibes"! ;-)

Very fitting review. I like the occasional "barber" scent too, but with Edition Blanche, even though I was a bit overwhelmed at first, Chanel really created an amazing fragrance. L'Humaniste feels a bit more refined to me, even though its longevity is terrible. I also enjoy layering Edition Blanche with L'Humaniste in a 1:2 ratio. Wonderful ;-)

I'm not really into Chanel, but this one is just beautifully crafted. And on the right person (my son), it works wonderfully. I can only agree with you.
