Grandma, cake again?

Man, what a scent. I'm glad it wasn't a blind buy, and that I tested it beforehand in the perfume shop.

I jump from Issey to Issey in the well-known D store, they are totally in trend right now. Somehow, none of it is really my thing, but the selection was also based on the rather blue scents, partly woody as well, but unfortunately without much kick. Then my gaze fell on this bottle. Hmm, looks familiar. I wanted to buy it blind, but it was too expensive for that. The risk was too great; my nose has a huge Klostein allergy. But everyone likes it? Everyone is raving about it? Especially, different, a summer scent that stands out from the other aquatic blue scents & brings in the wintry warmth that is otherwise rarely sniffed.

So I pulled the bottle from the corner cabinet, Kid,
Because everyone says that the Chanels are really crazy,
I take a shot even though I'm pretty broke,
On the right arm, blind,
Now a line that smells like Klostein.

But somehow not. I am still unsure whether I smelled something good or something bad. At first, there was a strong citrus Klostein note, but somehow very soft in the background. Not your average Klostein, but Klostein from Gucci or something. Within a few minutes, the Klostein disappeared, and it became warmer, more vanillic, tonka, slightly woody. But that... was it. Within 2 hours, there was still a hint of vanilla on my arm, as if the customer next to me was just thinking about vanilla pudding. About that intense.

I must say that the scent was REALLY beautiful at its peak. Pleasantly warm aura, very creamy, already cake-like, initially a bit too lemony, almost like lemon cake with vanilla extract, a rather gourmand start with a somewhat strange lemon note that I'm unsure if I liked. But as I said, I definitely liked the peak.

Unfortunately, the performance is quite disappointing, especially for such an extremely high price as an average designer. I'd rather take another designer that is generally a bit warmer, pay €40 less, and have 8 hours of performance. A summer scent whose performance is subpar, even though the scent itself isn't really that... bad?

Compliment scale: ? out of 10. The scent is gone as soon as your girlfriend is done with her makeup. Unisex scent!

On my son, it lasts all day - it was too much for all of us, he can't wear it anymore :) I noticed the scent from a student from 4 meters away, it really projects well. Overall, this version is a bit too sweet for me; I preferred the Eau de Toilette Concentrée.

To dismiss the global brand Chanel as just average design is really quite bold, I must say. Do Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard ring a bell? When was the last time you checked out their collections? Scent is not the same as fashion. Just because Ferrari released some fragrances with 4711 in the '90s doesn’t mean Ferrari is an average car brand. Always differentiate. For me, average brands are more like Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Boss, Gucci & Dior (under the new management), especially Philipp Plein and all those other clowns.

It's a shame that the quality of the reviews here is generally declining. Some people should stick to statements if they really have to...

A Chanel scent that smells like Gucci toilet cleaner!? Thank you for this pointless review.

Yes, you hit the nail on the head. Gucci Klostein in the top note, which then transitions into a fresh warm summer scent, but just as quickly fades away.
And you're welcome!
