Oh You Dream of My Sleepless Nights or the Richter Scale
Since I joined parfumo, I have tested around 700 fragrances and I keep finding myself falling in love all over again. Whether I ultimately need to have all the perfumes I’ve fallen for is another story. In the beginning, it was different; I was immediately on the hunt and the scent had to be mine, come what may.
Eclipse unfolds like the Richter scale from 1 to 10. It starts off rather subdued with a subtle herbal note, and the black pepper adds a spicy kick. It even tingles a bit in the nose, as if you were sprinkling freshly ground pepper directly onto your skin. But all of this is still quite restrained.
Eclipse ramps up more and more from minute to minute and from hour to hour. By the way, the slight sharpness of the pepper remains present even in the base.
Already when the top note has faded - which takes a while - the intensity reaches level 5.
The lily of the valley parade, spicy and quite different. Surround sound effect! Spirals in the eyes, wild gaze!
Level 5 transitions into 6-10. Earthquake warning came too late. No, better love warning. But I don’t want any more...... Oakmoss... about after 8 hours and a peppery musk. Still not a chypre, but one of the most interesting scents I have tested so far. I need help from a fragrance love detoxifier!
