Chloe, you delicate girl …
you are lovely and pleasing as an EdP, very pretty, well-groomed, and pleasant, but unfortunately also: a little too harmless and thus - excuse me - boring. Yet still intriguing enough that I had to keep reaching for the tester, just to go from a brief "Ah, how nice" to a "No, I'm just missing something." I kept smelling the Chloe EdP on pretty, well-groomed, impeccably dressed girls, but still a bit too perfect, the "rich girl" type, who doesn’t flaunt big brands but is clearly dressed expensively; and yes, that’s how Chloe EdP smells. "Sophisticated-understated, I don’t want a big drama around me, but still want to draw attention to myself." La-la-la-girlish. (And by the way, the men seem to be into it too; if I were to go by their judgment, the EdP would have long been in my possession.)
And then I encountered the EdT. The little sister. This cheeky, bolder, somewhat more outspoken creature that, overall, corresponds to dear Chloe but dares just a little bit more. Above all: to stand out. The mini-Chloe also wears delicate lace dresses, but instead of ballerinas, she wears boots. Yes, the scent is still romantic-girlish-lovely, but: There’s something zestier, more self-assured. Still a rich girl, but one who shrugs her shoulders. So what. I’ll just ruin my lace dress at a festival. The whole thing gets a casual na-na-na attitude and finally gives Chloe some character.
The scent lasts incredibly well on the skin, envelops you, and you should really be careful not to overdo it. What confuses and annoys me immensely is the almost identical packaging. A slightly differently colored liquid and a ribbon definitely do not suffice as distinguishing features for me. Because then there’s also the Eau de Klo. And the more intense one. At least solving this typographically and writing it on the bottle wouldn’t hurt anyone. Because Chloe IS NOT the same as Chloe!
What more can be said about the fragrance notes when everything has already been said …
It’s a floral, slightly fruity, fresh laundry scent. Softly sweet, with a bit of imagination I notice the melon, but the fragrance nuances blend so pleasantly that I can’t pinpoint THE fragrance note. Pink pepper, sandalwood oil, and tonka probably explain why even I, a "powdery-woody-oriental" person, can relate very well to this delicate floral scent.
You can wear it anytime. I can’t imagine that the scent would be unpleasant to anyone. But precisely for that reason, I won’t give it 100% - because it might be a bit too mass-compatible, and it unfortunately lacks that truly special something. I undoubtedly love this scent, could inhale it and bathe in it, but it hasn’t touched me to the core.
Nailed it! I accidentally bought the EdP out of confusion, even though I love the punch of the EdT. They really should make the difference clearer on the bottle...
