"Ambra Nera" by the Organic Australian
Christy Organics stands for the namesake founder Christina Siau. Less known in Germany, this Australian natural fragrance brand operates locally with suppliers based in Australia. A good thing - somewhat perverted by ordering to Germany ;) The safety standards for essential oils that apply in Australia are, by the way, similarly high as ours and thus stricter than in the States. This is certainly a plus for a purely organic perfume. It is organic too.
On average, Christy Organics only moderately excites me. Amber, on the other hand, stands out interestingly because it initially reminds me so strongly of my amber reference ("Ambra Nera" by Farmacia S.S.) during testing that I immediately treated myself to a comparison test, synthetic against natural. Soft-waxy, full-bodied, I would have sworn it was the soft liqueur-like benzoin cushion, which always seems slightly rosy to me.
It will not be surprising that Ambra Nera has the longer lasting power and better projection. In return, Amber drifts deeper into warm dark fruity resin after about two hours and thus avoids vanilla boredom. A bit less power, but by no means well-behaved. At elbow distance, the scent notes of the amber siblings remain similar.
I find both seductive, and the fact that Amber only receives an 8.5 is not due to a real 1.5 point difference from my Ambra Nera high score comment, but rather because I have simply grown a bit tired of my favorite over the past year. Too heavy, too soft.
Whether one is willing to pay more than double the purchase price for the absence of parabens, preservatives, ... remains an individual decision. The fair 12ml bottle size may make this decision easier. Since the Farmacia cat already lives with me, I leave this amber species to the Australians. Purring goods are certainly not allowed to be exported anyway with the strict border controls ;)
