…that I don't smell any musk…?! I've experienced this often, where a fragrance claims to have musk but then there's none in it or it's not perceived by me. It's the same here.
Right upon spraying, I'm greeted by a rather sweet cloud. I generally don't like sweetness in musk fragrances at all. But that doesn't matter here, as I don't smell any musk at all. However, I do smell fruit, which supposedly isn't even in there. It's sweet and fruity, with still no trace of musk. Gradually, the sweetness fades, and the flowers come into play, but that's no joy either: Alongside violet, which I rarely appreciate, there are also jasmine and ylang-ylang - a combination that doesn't sit well with me, and has already become unpleasant on several occasions.
While Musc Alize starts off quite intense due to the sweetness, the fragrance soon loses its strength. By the heart note, it becomes increasingly skin-close, and in the base, there's actually only a hint left - for my nose, without any musk at all. Is the fragrance fresh? Is it warm? I wish I could answer that seriously. Perhaps a bit of everything. In any case, it is sweet, fruity, and floral. And a bit creamy. Generally, I would associate it more with spring/summer.
Conclusion: I can't quite make sense of this fragrance, even though I've tested it repeatedly. I just can't say exactly how I feel about it. I don't find it good, but also not bad. The overlap would probably be: insignificant. However, for those who enjoy floral and fruity scents and can do without musk, Musc Alize might be a pleasant companion for the warmer days.
The different batches smell different from each other. So they are actually completely different scents. Now I'm wondering, how did yours smell?? By the way, I couldn't detect any musk in any of the MAs I tested.
Oh dear, violets and sweet flowers... No thanks ;-) Thanks for the heads-up, I definitely won't need to try this one (at least not if I'm looking for a musk scent).
Hmm - maybe the scent needs a bit more warmth to release the musk?! But honestly, it really didn't need more fruity-florals. Anyway: Have you ever tried "Felce Azzurra" *just asking*?
I found the scent too sweet as well; I prefer the crystal musk variants. By the way, I'm following the releases in your research area with great interest ;-) It felt too drugstore-like to me. Yes, CSP has become pretty quiet...
Nice to read a comment about this brand again, even if it's a musk scent without the musk. ;)) I've been meaning to dive deeper into their offerings. CSP has kind of fallen out of fashion unfairly.
It's so different for me; the scent almost knocks me over. Just one spray and I can smell the strong sillage for a long time. So, I guess my nose has a high sensitivity to musk. I really like the comment, especially the quest for a serious answer.
That has to go on the wishlist.
