Vanilla yogourt morphs into basic vanilla with synthetic screech
Bought this perfume as part of a travel size sample set from Sephora just before they discontinued Comptoir Sud Pacifique (CSP) from their brand offering. Held off from trying CSP because I had other decants to try out, but now I've been coming back to my travel sizes to try and declutter. This is the last one to try from my travel size set!
A blast of delicious vanilla yogourt is what I get for the first 5 minutes. Creamy, lactonic, slightly powdery vanilla. It's lovely, but at the same time very one-note (which is to be expected given what you see here). Unfortunately somewhere along the 15 minute mark I get this synthetic, almost plasticky (like a plastic doll) scent everyone is talking about. I gotta say it's definitely not my favorite thing here. After about an hour, it comes back to the normal CSP vanilla DNA we all know and love (sweet with a bit of powderiness).
All in all, it's a pretty basic vanilla fragrance I'd use for layering and amping the vanilla, powdery, sweet aspects of your other perfumes. For the price, it's not worth it as there are prettier, deeper and more complex vanilla fragrances out there.
I think CSP has pretty solid offerings. Might not have fallen on the best ones here, but they're nice nonetheless. I do suggest testing them out before!
