As soon as you get to the heart, the fragrance turns into a dense leather fragrance with patch and dry sandalwood providing the woody backbone and the vetiver lending notes of smoke.
Disappointing for me, because I was hoping for the freshness from the opening to guide me through an evergreen forest.
Contrary to its name, Secret Woods is essentially a dark, cold and smoky leather with woods and some resinous and spicy notes. Nice enough but not what I wanted it to be.
Just to make it clear, yes this is a bit reminiscent of Interlude (Interlude Black Iris for me, to be more precise) but Secret Woods has none of the herbal incense and is different enough to stand on its own.
