My favourite Creed

I'm a sucker for a good freshie - my favourites are things like Imagination, Meteore, YSL Y, Percival etc. I've been eying up Creed fragrances for a while and wanted to get my first bottle of Creed and it ultimately came down to this, Aventus Absolu, Aventus Cologne or Royal Oud. It was very tight between this and Absolu but I'm glad this is what I went with.

This takes the showergel type DNA, makes it green instead of blue and refines it so that it comes across as a masculine, mature green scent. It's not an obnoxiously loud fragrance but it's good enough to last a working day which is a criticism modern day Creeds get (rightfully so). It's perfect for the office and can be dressed up or down making it a perfectly suitable dumb-reach type fragrance.

I would say it's a fairly safe, mass appealing fragrance. The other green freshies I can think to compare this with are PDM Greenley which is a more youthful take on the fresh green, Amouage Beach Hut Man which is a more oriental/resinous take on the DNA and TDH which I don't own and haven't tested properly. This is my favourite from that bunch and one not often talked about compared to Aventus flankers.

I'm keen to grab a bottle of Cool Water and to compare them properly but I'll always leave room for this fragrance in my collection.
