Creed or Greed?
I admit, I love this scent! When I had a sprayer of Aventus applied to my forearm last year and experienced this fragrance DNA for the first time, I had an olfactory wow moment. I had never smelled anything like it. Even the next morning after my shower, it was still clearly noticeable. I carefully packed the scent strip I had separately received in a zip bag so I could sniff it again over the following days.
Perfume is an art form, as Jeremy likes to repeat often. This naturally justifies the horrendous prices, which I am not willing to pay; I am too pragmatic for that. €270 per 100ml was not worth it to me, and it still isn’t!
So I set out to look for clones that smell similar. It wasn’t about finding an exact clone for me. Who knows, I might even like a clone better. I liked almost every clone. Compared to the original in my memory, some were fruitier and smokier. Unfortunately, none lasted as long as the original.
A few months and several clones later, I found myself missing the incredible longevity of the original Creed Aventus. Thanks to the great invention of the Souk, I ordered a decant. I sprayed it on my forearm again, and that’s when the disappointment began…
This batch C4218G11 had a longevity of less than 3 hours on my skin! Was I being taken for a ride? I immediately ordered another decant from a different Parfumo, this time batch C4218D01. Just as disappointing! On my skin, it lasted less than 3 hours, on paper with luck 8 hours. Even my dupes perform better!
Was I now being taken for a ride by two Parfumos? I find that unlikely! Rather, Creed seems to be driven by greed and thinks it has to sell diluted goods.
With that, Creed was definitively out for me! Anyone who offers such an overpriced product and then, despite raised prices, does not ensure consistent quality, I will not buy from. Long live the free market, and I will continue to pay only a tenth for a clone! Even if I have to carry a travel sprayer with me and reapply every few hours. That way, I have the choice of whether I want to smell smoky-heavy or fruity-fresh, and I am happy to wear this masculine fragrance DNA on any occasion.
Even if some Creed fanboys universally tear apart all Aventus clones under €100 per 100ml, I smell no qualitative difference. I am reminded of the nice lady in the perfumery who spoke about the continuously rising prices of the Aventus bottles in the past and how surprised she was that this scent is still bought unchanged.
The scent has been described countless times, so I will spare myself and you a more in-depth scent description. My comment was more about the longevity, which I evaluate here quite objectively according to the following scheme: For every two hours of perceivability from two sprays on paper, there is one point, up to 10 hours. After that, there is one point for every five hours. 8 or 9 are only achieved by those that last at least one night on my skin, and 10 if they survive a shower. Done. Since the older batches last significantly longer than the current ones, there is a consolation point.
Sincerely, your hunting vegetable!

If you're offering such an overpriced product, you should also ensure consistent quality like before. This is also reflected in the longevity. In the two batches I have, the longevity is terrible for the price!
But you’re right otherwise. I personally find the scent totally overpriced, and if there’s a risk that it doesn’t last long, it definitely affects the buying decision. However, I have to mention that samples from the store always lasted a long time.
