Unique to the end, so far (!) no worthy opponent has been able to match this little water, all dupes/clones/impostors/imitators (the transitions are fluid) have so far failed to achieve this uniqueness and unmistakability in this fragrance segment. Most were too overwhelmingly citrusy, chemically smoky, musty-synthetic, and overall too unbalanced.
Until now. On the horizon, I see a fragrance that is not only equal to it but comes across as rounder, more balanced, more diverse, richer, and more natural at a lower price than this one. At least for me - and I hope that it receives as little attention as possible and that the "Lion's Essence" remains a niche of a niche under the radar of the masses. Although one can no longer speak of a niche with Creed's Aventus...
Loewe Esencia is like Aventus minus the sex appeal, basically Aventus for the office! I love Aventus, but the sometimes aggressively overwhelming compliments I get at work with it just don’t quite fit into the office vibe. However, Aventus is unbeatable at the after-work party; Esencia feels too smooth and serious for that.
Haha... I also think the lion is sooo great, but I can hardly notice it myself after a short time... I don't know if I'm nose-blind to it, but that's something that bothers me a bit. I usually only wear it in situations that require a subtle scent, as I assume that those around me perceive it just as faintly as I do. Such a shame, otherwise it would be perfect for me!
I find the "Lion Essence" to be absolutely on par with Aventus. Strangely, the Lion lacks pineapple (instead, there's lavender), yet the similarity is striking. I can't explain it.
