My relationship with Creed's Aventus could be compared to a visit to the hyped, new burger joint.
The fancy burger place that just opened around the corner and is massively hyped. Every other person posts in their Instagram story that they are there and are one of the "lucky" ones who got to try the oh-so-good burger.
For me, it was like this: I had wished for the fragrance for a long time and then received it as a birthday gift from my friends. I was on cloud nine. Finally Aventus. THE original Aventus. But the disillusionment came very quickly: WHERE. IS. THE. LONGEVITY?! Sure, the scent DNA itself is absolutely incredible. Simply magical.
But when 4 friends come together to gift me an expensive niche fragrance, you expect at least 8 hours of longevity. For me, it lasts a maximum of 1-2 hours.
Back to the association with the burger joint. It feels like you finally visited this burger place and then it's just a small, thin patty with some lettuce between two buns and with what feels like 2-3 drops of sauce. You feel full for exactly 15 minutes and then the magic is gone - at home, this burger would surely have been better.
Yes, it's really a shame about Aventus. It was a great scent when it still had good performance, but unfortunately, those days are long gone, even before the sale of Creed.
