It's not that bad. But also not that good. Pineapple was a no-show, I didn't write down the batch number. Basically, Aventus is just a very ordinary little water, well made but traditionally to the point of exhaustion. I like that kind of thing. I like it, as many do. A fougere for grown men who no longer want to go for "1 Million," who want to come across as more sensitive, moving from the broad-shouldered 3s to the family-friendly Toyota ... we understand each other. However, there is also "Fougere Royal" by Houbigant. That is, on the other hand, a completely different brand, costs less, has less batch stress, and is something different. It exudes youth. My recommendation for the well-groomed gentleman of tomorrow..

Just a quick note on categorization: Aventus belongs in the "Chypre" fragrance category. :)
On one hand, the classification is just approximate; on the other hand, the product doesn’t have the feel of a 'chypre' like the typical and still available Mitsouko, or the earlier Y, or even New York by Nicolai, Halston's Z14. All of these should be known by men. Aventus is pleasant and might just fall somewhere in between - to me, it leans more towards a fresh, cheerful cologne with hints of the seriousness of growing up. I didn’t even notice the little bit of candy from the pineapple.
@Rivegauche@AlphaGamma oh no. Aventus is clearly a Chypre and has almost nothing to do with a Fougere. If you both think that Aventus is not a Chypre, could you please explain which characteristics it lacks that would prevent it from being classified as a Chypre? Citrusy top, floral heart, woody mossy base = Chypre.
Peter, Wikipedia isn't a dictionary. What do you think, who wrote the text? Ambroxan, sweet, moss feels like a fougere to me. It's also pretty thin. But before this gets too serious - perfume isn't serious, it's just expensive, shall we leave it at that?
